Climbers often need to navigate glaciers while secured on ropes, making this expedition suitable only for experienced mountaineers.

From the summit, climbers are rewarded with breathtaking close-up views of the Annapurna range, including Annapurna I, III, and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak, and Manaslu. The Chulu massif includes both Chulu West and Chulu East, which often confuses climbers due to multiple summits in the same area. Maps of the region are not precise, making it difficult to distinguish the exact locations of the peaks. As a result, many climbers have unintentionally scaled the wrong summit, thinking it was Chulu East.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. Rest, relax, and prepare for the upcoming trekking and climbing adventure.

Day 02 :

Kathmandu – Sightseeing and Preparation

Spend the day exploring Kathmandu’s cultural highlights, including temples, historic sites, and local markets. Attend a pre-trek briefing, check your climbing gear, and finalize preparations for the expedition.

Day 03 :

Drive from Kathmandu to Khudi/Syangja (1,100m)

Drive from Kathmandu through the scenic Trishuli Valley to Khudi or Syangja. Enjoy views of terraced fields, rivers, and local villages along the way. Overnight stay in a local guesthouse or teahouse.

Day 04 :

Syange/Jagat to Dharapani (1,960m) | Trek: 7–8 hours

Begin your trek from Syange or Jagat, following the Marsyangdi River through terraced fields, traditional villages, and lush forests. Reach Dharapani by evening and rest overnight at a local teahouse.

Day 05 :

Dharapani to Chame (2,700m) | Trek: 6–7 hours

Trek through charming villages, dense pine forests, and along the Marsyangdi River. Arrive in Chame, the district headquarters of Manang, and enjoy views of surrounding peaks. Overnight stay in a local teahouse.

Day 06 :

Upper Pisang to Manang (3,470m) | Trek: 6–7 hours

Trek through Upper Pisang, enjoying spectacular views of the Annapurna and Pisang peaks. Pass traditional villages, mani walls, and alpine landscapes before reaching Manang. Overnight stay in a teahouse, allowing time to acclimatize.

Day 07 :

Manang – Exploration Day

Spend a rest and acclimatization day in Manang. Explore the village, visit local monasteries, and enjoy stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Take short hikes to nearby viewpoints to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. Overnight stay in a teahouse.

Day 08 :

Manang to Ledar (4,230m) | Trek: 4 hours

Leave Manang and trek gradually through alpine meadows and rocky landscapes toward Ledar. Enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna II, Gangapurna, and surrounding peaks. Arrive in Ledar by afternoon and rest at a local teahouse to acclimatize.

Day 09 :

Ledar to Chulu West Base Camp (4,900m) | Trek: 4–5 hours

Trek from Ledar through rugged terrain and glacial moraines toward Chulu West Base Camp. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and the Marsyangdi Glacier. Arrive at Base Camp by afternoon, set up for acclimatization, and rest for the summit attempt.

Day 10 :

Chulu West Base Camp to Camp I (5,100m) | Trek/Climb: 4–5 hours

Begin your climb from Chulu West Base Camp toward Camp I. Navigate rocky slopes and glacial terrain while gradually ascending to higher altitude. Take time to rest and acclimatize at Camp I, preparing for the summit push the following day. Overnight stay in tents at Camp I.

Day 11 :

Rest and Acclimatization at Base Camp

Spend the day at Base Camp to rest and allow your body to adjust to the high altitude. Use this time for light hikes around the camp, review climbing techniques, and prepare mentally and physically for the summit attempt. Overnight stay in tents at Base Camp.

Day 12 :

Camp I to Camp II (5,540m) | Climb: 4–5 hours

Ascend from Camp I to Camp II, navigating steep slopes and glacial sections with ropes and climbing gear. Take frequent breaks to acclimatize and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding Annapurna peaks. Overnight stay in tents at Camp II, preparing for the summit push.

Day 13 :

Camp II to Chulu West Summit (6,584m) and Return to Camp II | Climb: 8–10 hours

Start early from Camp II for the summit attempt. Navigate steep snow and ice sections using ropes, crampons, and ice axes. Reach the summit of Chulu West and enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna I, III & IV, Gangapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak, and Manaslu. After celebrating at the top, carefully descend back to Camp II for rest and overnight stay in tents.

Day 14 :

Camp II to Ledar (4,230m) | Trek: 5–6 hours

Descend from Camp II back through Camp I toward Ledar. Trek along glacial moraines and rocky trails, enjoying the alpine scenery on the way. Arrive in Ledar by afternoon and rest overnight in a teahouse.

Day 15 :

Chulu West Base Camp to Thorong Phedi/High Camp (4,500m) | Trek: 5–6 hours

Descend from Chulu West Base Camp toward Thorong Phedi or the nearby high camp. Trek through glacial valleys and rocky terrain while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. Arrive by afternoon, rest, and overnight stay in tents or teahouse accommodations, preparing for the continuation of the trek.

Day 16 :

Thorong Phedi/High Camp to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass (5,416m) | Trek: 8–9 hours

Start early from Thorong Phedi or High Camp for the challenging ascent to Thorong La Pass, the highest point of the trek at 5,416m. After reaching the pass, enjoy panoramic Himalayan views before descending to Muktinath (3,802m), a sacred site known for its temple and natural spring. Overnight stay in a teahouse in Muktinath.

Day 17 :

Muktinath Temple Excursion and Trek to Kagbeni (2,800m) | Trek: 3–4 hours

In the morning, visit the sacred Muktinath Temple and explore the surrounding area. After the excursion, trek downhill to the traditional village of Kagbeni, passing through dramatic landscapes and Tibetan-style villages. Overnight stay in a local teahouse.

Day 18 :

Kagbeni to Jomsom (2,720m) | Trek: 2–3 hours

Trek from Kagbeni to Jomsom along the Kali Gandaki River, passing through arid landscapes and traditional Thakali villages. Arrive in Jomsom by midday, where you can relax and enjoy the town’s facilities. Overnight stay in a teahouse or guesthouse.

Day 19 :

Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara & Pokhara Excursion

Take a scenic morning flight from Jomsom to Pokhara. Spend the day exploring the Pokhara Valley at your own pace—visit Phewa Lake, Devi’s Fall, or enjoy leisure activities. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 20 :

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu | Duration: 6–7 hours

Drive back to Kathmandu through the scenic highways, passing rivers, valleys, and traditional villages along the way. Arrive in Kathmandu by evening and check in to your hotel. Rest and prepare for your departure the next day.

Day 21 :

Final Departure from Kathmandu

After breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward international flight. Bid farewell to Nepal, taking with you unforgettable memories of the Himalayas, Chulu West climbing experience, and the Annapurna region trek.
