Overview

Hidden within the pristine landscapes of Gorkha, the Tsum Valley lies in the northern region of the Manaslu range, home to the world’s eighth-highest peak, Manaslu (8,163 meters). This remote Himalayan valley, located in central-northern Nepal, is one of the lesser-explored gems near Kathmandu, offering breathtaking natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage.

Tsum Valley remains one of Nepal’s most underrated treks. The name “Tsum” comes from the Tibetan word Tsombo, meaning “vivid,” reflecting the valley’s vibrant culture, unique lifestyle, and mystical stories. From insights into traditional polyandry (once practiced) to legends of the Yeti, the valley is full of fascinating mysteries waiting to be discovered.

The trek offers spectacular panoramic views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Himalchuli, and many other Himalayan peaks. Along the route, trekkers encounter ancient monasteries, gompas, Mani walls, prayer wheels, and fluttering prayer flags, immersing themselves in the rich Tibetan Buddhist culture that brings peace and spiritual reflection.
