Your journey begins with an early drive from Kathmandu to Taplejung, passing through scenic hills, rivers, and rural settlements of eastern Nepal. From Taplejung, continue by jeep to Sekathum, the starting point of the Kanchenjunga trekking trail. This long but scenic day introduces you to the remote landscapes and natural beauty of the Kanchenjunga region before settling in at Sekathum for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, the trek begins from Sekathum, following a narrow trail along the Ghunsa River through dense forests and small settlements. The path gradually ascends with a few steep sections, crossing suspension bridges and passing waterfalls along the way. As you move deeper into the Kanchenjunga region, the landscape becomes more rugged and remote. After several hours of trekking, you arrive at the quiet village of Aamjilasa, where you will spend the night surrounded by pristine nature.

Today’s trek continues through dense rhododendron and bamboo forests, following the trail along the Ghunsa River. The path includes gradual ascents and descents, passing small waterfalls and remote settlements along the way. As you gain altitude, the air becomes cooler and the scenery more alpine. After several hours of trekking, you reach the traditional village of Gyabla (2,750m), a peaceful stop surrounded by forested hills, where you will rest and acclimatize overnight.

Today is a longer and rewarding hiking day as you trek from Aamjilasa to Ghunsa. The trail climbs gradually through dense forests of rhododendron, pine, and bamboo, following the river upstream. As you approach Ghunsa (3,430m)—the main village of the region—the terrain opens up, and the influence of Tibetan culture becomes more visible. Today is a challenging and rewarding hiking day as you trek from Lonak to Pangpema, the North Base Camp of Mount Kanchenjunga. Leaving Selele Kharka, the trail gradually descends and winds through alpine meadows and rocky terrain toward Tseram. Along the way, you pass high-altitude streams, yak pastures, and panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, including the south-west face of Kanchenjunga. You reach Tseram (4,200m) in the afternoon, where you stay overnight in a quiet settlement, enjoying the serene mountain surroundings.

The trail passes yak grazing pastures, small stone shelters, and offers spectacular views of the south-west face of Mount Kanchenjunga. The terrain is a mix of gentle ascents and descents, allowing trekkers to soak in the dramatic mountain scenery. Arriving at Ramche (4,150m), you settle in for the night, surrounded by pristine wilderness and towering Himalayan peaks.

Today’s trek is a rewarding hiking day from Ramche to the Oktang Viewpoint. The trail gradually ascends through alpine meadows, rocky ridges, and high-altitude pastures, offering panoramic views of Kanchenjunga’s south-west face and surrounding Himalayan peaks. At the Oktang Viewpoint, you are treated to one of the most spectacular vistas in the region, perfect for photography and soaking in the grandeur of the mountains. After enjoying the views, you return to Ramche for an overnight stay.

Today, you trek from Oktang toward Tortong Ding, moving through high-altitude alpine terrain. The trail passes rocky ridges, yak pastures, and glacial streams, with continuous panoramic views of Mount Kanchenjunga and surrounding peaks. The landscape is rugged and remote, giving a true sense of adventure in the Himalayas. After several hours of trekking, you reach Tortong Ding (4,200m), a peaceful highland area, where you rest and spend the night amidst stunning mountain scenery.

Today’s trek descends from Torongding through alpine meadows and rugged trails toward King Sher. The path winds past yak pastures, stone shelters, and glacial streams, offering spectacular views of the south-west face of Kanchenjunga along the way. The terrain gradually lowers in altitude, making the trek a bit easier than the previous high-altitude days. Arriving at King Sher (3,900m), you settle in for the night in this remote Himalayan village, enjoying the serene mountain environment.

After breakfast, you begin the descent from King Sher along scenic trails through forested slopes, streams, and small settlements. Trekking down, you eventually reach the roadhead, where a jeep awaits to drive you to Taplejung. The drive passes through picturesque villages and lush landscapes of eastern Nepal, offering a relaxing end to the trekking portion of your journey. Overnight stay is in Taplejung, where you can rest and reflect on the adventure.

On the final day of your journey, you depart from Taplejung and travel back to Kathmandu. Depending on your chosen route, this may involve a combination of jeep rides and a domestic flight, offering scenic views of eastern Nepal’s hills, rivers, and valleys. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you are transferred to your hotel, marking the end of the Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek. This evening is free to relax, celebrate your achievement, and explore the vibrant capital city.
