Manaslu Circuit Trek

Arrive in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal, at 1,365 meters. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and rest. Take the day to relax, acclimatize, and explore the city at your own pace before the trek begins. Evening is free to enjoy local cuisine or prepare for the upcoming adventure.

After breakfast, begin a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, covering approximately 157 km through winding mountain roads and picturesque landscapes. The journey takes about 9–10 hours, passing rivers, forests, and traditional villages. Arrive in Machha Khola (890 m), a small riverside town, where you will check in to your teahouse or lodge and rest for the night, preparing for the trek ahead.

Start your trek after breakfast, following the Budhi Gandaki River through lush forests, terraced fields, and small villages. The trail gradually climbs as you cross suspension bridges and witness glimpses of local life. Covering approximately 13.5 km in 7–8 hours, you will arrive in Jagat (1,410 m), a small settlement where you can rest and enjoy dinner at your teahouse, preparing for the next day’s trek.

After breakfast, continue your trek along the Budhi Gandaki River, passing through picturesque villages, terraced fields, and dense forests. The trail gradually ascends, offering stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan foothills. Covering around 20 km in 7–8 hours, you will reach Dyang (1,800 m), a small village where you can rest at a local teahouse and enjoy dinner while soaking in the serene mountain atmosphere.

After breakfast, continue trekking along the Budhi Gandaki River valley, passing through charming villages, terraced fields, and rhododendron forests. The trail gradually ascends, offering beautiful mountain views and glimpses of local life. Covering approximately 19 km in 7–8 hours, you will arrive in Namrung (2,660 m), a welcoming village where you can rest at your teahouse and prepare for the higher-altitude trek ahead.

After breakfast, begin your trek from Namrung, gradually ascending through terraced fields, forests, and remote villages. The trail becomes steeper as you gain altitude, offering stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Covering approximately 18 km in 7–8 hours, you will reach Shyala (3,500 m), a quiet village where you can rest and acclimatize for the challenging days ahead.

After breakfast, visit the Pungyen Monastery, experiencing the local Buddhist culture and traditions. After the visit, continue trekking through picturesque landscapes, small villages, and terraced fields, gradually ascending toward Samagaun (3,585 m). Covering approximately 17 km in 5–6 hours, you will reach this charming village, nestled in the mountains, where you can rest at a teahouse and enjoy the serene Himalayan surroundings.

Today is an acclimatization day to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. After breakfast, embark on a day hike to Manaslu Base Camp (4,800 m), trekking through alpine meadows, rocky trails, and scenic mountain landscapes. The hike covers approximately 13.5 km in 5–6 hours with moderate ascent. Enjoy close-up views of Mount Manaslu and the surrounding peaks before returning to Samagaun (3,585 m) to rest and prepare for the high passes ahead.

After breakfast, begin your trek from Samagaun toward Dharmasala / Larkya La Phedi (4,460 m). Today’s trail is shorter but steeper, helping your body acclimatize for the challenging Larkya La Pass ahead. Covering approximately 6 km in 4–5 hours, you will pass through rocky paths, high-altitude landscapes, and scattered settlements before reaching Dharmasala, a basic teahouse settlement where you can rest, acclimatize, and enjoy the surrounding Himalayan views.

After an early breakfast, begin the challenging ascent to Larkya La Pass (5,106 m), the highest point of the trek. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas as you cross this iconic pass. After reaching the summit, start the descent to Bhimthang (3,790 m), passing through alpine meadows and glacial streams. Covering approximately 16 km in 8–9 hours, you will arrive at Bhimthang, a remote settlement where you can rest and recover after a demanding but rewarding day.

After breakfast, begin your descent from Bhimthang to Gho, passing through lush alpine meadows, forests, and traditional villages. The trail gradually descends, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Along the way, you will experience local culture and hospitality in the small villages. Arrive in Gho (2,550 m) by afternoon, where you can rest at a teahouse and enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by the Himalayan scenery.

After breakfast, continue your descent through lush forests and terraced landscapes toward Dharapani or Besishahar Bazar (1,910 m). The trail is relatively easy, taking approximately 3–4 hours, and offers scenic views of rivers, farmland, and traditional villages along the way. Arrive at your destination in the afternoon, where you can rest, explore the local market, and enjoy your final night on the trail.

After breakfast, begin the final leg of your trek, descending from Dharapani to Besisahar (760 m). The trek is gentle and scenic, passing through riverside trails, villages, and farmland, allowing you to soak in the last views of the Manaslu region. Upon reaching Besisahar, board a vehicle for the drive back to Kathmandu, covering approximately 224 km. Arrive in the capital in the evening, where you can check into your hotel, relax, and celebrate the completion of your unforgettable trek.

After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Kathmandu and proceed to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.
