Traveling to Nepal is simple for most international visitors. Nepal offers Visa on Arrival as well as advance visa options, making entry convenient and straightforward. Below is the essential visa information to help you prepare for your trip.


Visa on Arrival

Most travelers can obtain a Tourist Visa on Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and at authorized land border crossings.

For quicker processing, we recommend completing the online visa application within 15 days before arrival. Alternatively, visa forms can also be filled out at self-service kiosks at the airport.


Required Documents

To obtain a Nepal Tourist Visa, you will need:

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months validity and one blank page

  • One recent passport-size photograph

  • Visa fee payment in cash (USD preferred)
    (Credit or debit cards may not always be accepted)


Visa Fees & Duration

Tourist visa fees are as follows:

  • 15 days: USD 30

  • 30 days: USD 50

  • 90 days: USD 125

Visa fees are subject to change. We recommend checking the official Nepal Department of Immigration website before traveling.


Visa Extension

If you wish to stay longer, tourist visas can be extended at immigration offices in Kathmandu or Pokhara.

  • Minimum extension: 15 days – USD 45

  • Maximum stay: 150 days per calendar year


Gratis Visa & Important Notes

  • Free visas are available for:

    • Children under 10 years old (except U.S. nationals)

    • SAARC nationals (except Afghanistan)

    • Chinese nationals

    • Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) cardholders

  • Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of entry

  • Always extend or renew your visa on time to avoid fines, detention, or deportation
